In Los Angeles, everyone is five minutes from making it. Ace traded the future his family planned for his shot at it.
By day he drives strangers through the city for an app that measures his worth in rides. By night he auditions for the version of his life he already posts online.
Online, he appears to be winning. Offline, his life is quietly collapsing.
Angel City is a dramatic odyssey laced with dark comedy about the people who serve the Hollywood dream every day and are never invited inside — and what it costs to keep smiling in a city where perception is currency.
Noel Braham is an Emmy nominated writer, director, and producer. His short film Watchtower served as the concept for what would become Angel City.
A survivor of homelessness, Noel centers his work on social justice. As co-founder of the Micheaux Film Festival, he has supported thousands of filmmakers with partners including Sony Pictures, Apple TV+, The Oprah Winfrey Network, and Panavision, and in 2026 launched the Oscar Micheaux Institute. Angel City is his feature debut.

Many of them work. Many of them audition. Many of them post smiling photos from a car parked where nobody will recognize it. Angel City is committed to telling this story with dignity — and to pointing its audience toward the people doing the work.
Official Angel City merchandise is on its way — pieces made with the same intention as the film, for the dreamers still driving toward it.
